Job summary

FMT Solicitors in Manchester is seeking an experienced Private Client Solicitor to join our office and establish and develop our Private Client offering in the region. You will shape the department, build relationships within the local community, and create a sustainable pipeline of work.

The role suits an established Private Client solicitor who can manage their own caseload, work autonomously, and take the next step in growing a new area of the business.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with established experience in Private Client work.
• Strong technical knowledge across a range of Private Client matters.
• Experience in wills, probate and estate administration is essential.
• Experience of trusts and/or tax planning would be advantageous.
• A strong client-focused approach, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently and work effectively to deadlines.
• Commercially aware, with an understanding of the importance of developing and retaining client relationships.
• Established links within the Manchester or wider Greater Manchester area would be advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Comfortable working autonomously while contributing positively to a wider team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and legal practice management systems.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied caseload of Private Client matters from instruction through to completion.
• Providing clear, practical and commercially appropriate advice to clients.
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
• Developing new business and contributing to the growth of the Manchester Private Client service.
• Identifying opportunities to develop referrals and generate new instructions.
• Advising on a range of Private Client matters, including wills, trusts, probate and estate administration.
• Handling matters efficiently and proactively, ensuring clients receive a high standard of service.
• Preparing and reviewing legal documentation and correspondence.
• Liaising with beneficiaries, executors, trustees, financial advisers, accountants and other professional advisers.
• Managing client expectations and providing regular updates throughout the matter.
• Maintaining accurate and compliant case records in accordance with firm procedures and regulatory requirements.
• Contributing to the development of processes, systems and the wider Private Client offering in the Manchester office.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues across the firm to identify opportunities and provide a joined-up service to clients.

FMT Solicitors is seeking an experienced and motivated Private Client Solicitor to join our Manchester office and play a key role in establishing and developing our Private Client offering in the region.

This is an exciting opportunity for a solicitor who is looking for more than simply managing an existing caseload. As a new service for our Manchester office, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to help shape the department, develop strong relationships within the local community and professional network, and build a successful and sustainable pipeline of work.

We are looking for someone who is established within the Private Client sector, understands the local market and has the confidence and commercial awareness to develop their own network of contacts and opportunities. Existing connections with clients, professional referrers and other local organisations would be highly advantageous.

You will have the support of an established firm and wider Private Client team, while having the autonomy and opportunity to make the Manchester service your own.

The role would suit an experienced Private Client Solicitor who is confident dealing directly with clients, capable of managing their own caseload and keen to take the next step in developing their career and helping to grow a new area of the business.
