Oculus Legal Group in Birmingham city centre seeks a Senior Associate or Legal Director in Private Client to join a large international practice. You will manage high-net-worth client matters, advising on estate and wealth planning with direct client contact and opportunities for career progression.

Experience in wills, trusts, succession planning and lifetime planning is essential, with a track record of delivering sophisticated wealth strategies for HNW/UHNW clients.

Senior Associate / Legal Director – Private Client | Birmingham City Centre | Up to £95,000 + 20% Bonus

I’m currently working with a large international law firm looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Senior Associate / Legal Director to join its highly regarded team in Birmingham city centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Private Client lawyer looking to work at the top end of the market, advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth clients on sophisticated wealth planning, succession and estate matters.

Working alongside highly regarded specialists, you’ll advise a diverse client base with complex personal, family and business wealth structures, while benefiting from the resources, client base and opportunities that come with an international firm.

The role offers exposure to high-value, technically challenging work, significant direct client contact and genuine opportunities for further career progression.

The role will include:

• Advising high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, families and business owners across a broad range of Private Client and wealth planning matters
• Providing strategic advice on estate planning, succession planning and wealth preservation
• Drafting and advising on complex wills, including matters involving trusts and business assets
• Advising on and preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and wider lifetime planning arrangements
• Administering taxable and non-taxable estates, including complex and high-value matters
• Advising on inheritance tax planning, capital gains tax implications and lifetime gifting strategies
• Establishing, administering and restructuring trusts
• Advising trustees on their responsibilities and ongoing trust matters
• Assisting with family investment and wealth-holding structures
• Developing strong relationships with clients and professional intermediaries
• Contributing to the continued growth and profile of the wider Private Client practice

This would suit an established Senior Associate or Legal Director, or an ambitious lawyer approaching this level, who wants to further develop their technical expertise within a sophisticated international Private Client practice.
