Job summary

Motus Legal Recruitment is helping a Cheltenham firm recruit a Private Client & Court of Protection Solicitor (NQ+). The role covers a broad private client mix including wills, estate planning, EPAs, LPAs, probate, and increasing Court of Protection work.

The ideal candidate will have a private client background (or CoP seat) and show interest in representing clients with capacity issues. A supportive, partner-led environment awaits.

Qualifications

• Experience in private client matters including wills, estates, EPAs, LPAs and probate.
• Interest or experience in Court of Protection work and capacity matters.
• NQ solicitor with private client/CoP exposure or qualified solicitor with around 0–2 years' experience.

Responsibilities

• Advise on wills, estate planning, EPAs, LPAs, probate and tax for a private client portfolio.
• Assist on Court of Protection work and capacity planning for clients lacking decision-making capacity.
• Work in a partner-led team that supports and develops junior lawyers.

Our client is an established, well-liked firm in Cheltenham with an outstanding private client offering.

The firm is looking for a talented Private Client & Court of Protection Solicitor, NQ+ to join the team, which is partner led, supportive and independently recognised as being one of the best in the market.

You'll join a Private Client team which advises on the full range of private client matters including wills, estate planning, EPAs, probate and tax work and acts for an established portfolio of clients including HNW individuals. The team also protects and managing the affairs of those with mental incapacity and has a growing reputation for Court of Protection work.

In this role, you'll be dealing with a mix of private client matters including wills, trusts, estate planning, EPAs, LPAs and also Court of Protection work.

The ideal candidate could be an NQ Solicitor with a private client and/or CoP seat under their belt, or a qualified solicitor with around 0-2 years'+ experience in the same. You might also be a CILEX or similar and looking for a new challenge. The firm is particularly keen to talk to lawyers who display an interest in CoP work and in working with people who lack the capacity to make decisions for themselves.
