Job summary

Grant Thornton UK is seeking an Assistant Manager in Private Capital Corporate Tax in Scotland to manage a diverse client portfolio and lead tax advisory and compliance work. You will supervise junior staff, report to Partners or Directors, and contribute to new business development with a proactive approach.

Qualifications

• Strong, up-to-date knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and international tax concepts.
• Experience in reviewing work and supervising staff in a tax environment.
• Evidence of managing corporation tax compliance portfolios and tax accounting / audit of tax.
• Excellent communication skills in supporting the team to grow and deliver on key client accounts.
• Be flexible to juggle client commitments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• You will manage a portfolio of owner-managed businesses, PE-backed and large groups, handling corporation tax work and advisory projects.
• Supervise and review work by junior staff and report to Partners and Directors in most cases.
• Deliver corporate tax compliance services and tax advisory work, coordinating with Audit colleagues and other teams.
• Build and maintain client relationships, identify new business opportunities, and participate in pitches and proposals.
