London, with hybrid working available
A prestigious private bank in London is seeking a proactive Private Banking Assistant to support a UK team of three Client Relationship Officers (CROs). The team looks after an international client base, and the profiles are not complex or high risk.
This is a varied role with exposure to both credit and investments. You will be the day-to-day link between clients and the bank's internal teams, making sure instructions are executed accurately and that client relationships are well looked after.
Please note, candidates should ideally have 3 to 5 years of experience in private banking. The IAD (Investment Advice Diploma) is desirable and candidates who have started it are welcome, but it is not a requirement.
Key Responsibilities of the Private Banking Assistant to include:
- Client Administration: Process client instructions, including transfers and payments, foreign exchange, and the monitoring and fixing of bank deposits.
- Investment Support: Process purchases and securities sales for the CROs and their clients, and promote and arrange relevant banking and investment products once the required qualifications are held.
- Credit Support: Complete and process credit applications and reviews, and manage new loans from approval through to drawdown.
- Client Contact: Act as the primary point of contact for clients, follow up on pending issues and elevate to the CRO where necessary.
- Onboarding and Reviews: Prepare documentation on behalf of the CROs to ensure periodic reviews and onboarding submissions are completed on time.
- Internal Stakeholder Management: Work with Operations, Compliance and offshore entities to complete annual reviews and onboarding documents, and act as the team's contact for internal troubleshooting and requests.
- Research: Carry out research at the request of the CROs.
- Compliance: Work in line with the Code of Conduct and internal regulations, including Cross Border, AML and Clear Desk policies.
Requirements for the successful Private Banking Assistant to include:
- 3 to 5 years of demonstrable experience in a similar role within private banking or financial services.
- A good understanding of private banking processes and financial products, with working knowledge of KYC, AML, FATCA and CRS requirements.
- Exposure to both investment administration and credit or lending processes.
- Experience of working with international clients is preferred.
- IAD (Investment Advice Diploma) desirable, or a willingness to work towards it. CeMAP is also desirable.
- Comfortable using standard IT systems and quick to learn new software.
- A service-oriented, client-focused approach, with a high level of confidentiality and discretion.
- A proactive, collaborative team player who is detail-oriented, accurate and reliable.
