Job summary

Mitie Immigration & Justice is recruiting Prisoner Custody Officers (Vehicle Based) for the Glasgow Vehicle Base. You will ensure safe, secure transport of individuals between prisons, courts and custody locations while maintaining welfare and compliance with procedures.

The role requires a full UK driving licence, the ability to work 42 hours per week on a 4 on/4 off pattern, and a commitment to diversity and inclusion. A £2,000 sign-on bonus is available.

Qualifications

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
• Experience in security, custody, police, prison or public service environments is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Escort and transport prisoners safely between prisons, courts and other locations.
• Maintain safety, security and welfare of individuals in custody during transport.
• Conduct searches of prisoners and escort vehicles as required.
• Record keeping and accurate documentation of operations.
• Liaise professionally with Scottish Prison Service staff and other partners.
