Job summary

The Pharmacy Technician role sits in the four-person pharmacy team within the healthcare department at HMP Gartree, a category B prison, run by Practice Plus Group's Health in Justice team. The post covers dispensing, stock control, prescription rewriting and medication checks as part of a safe medicines management service.

The role is full-time at 37.5 hours a week, with a seven-day service from 7.30am to 5pm and one weekend in four.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent (or above) in pharmacy.
• GPhC registration required.
• Relevant post-qualification pharmacy experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient-centred care, acting on patient feedback.
• Dispense medicines, order stock and manage stock control.
• Rewrite prescriptions and carry out medication checks.
• Maintain patient medical records to the agreed standard.
• Follow standard operating procedures for a safe medicines management service.
• Work as a key member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
