Job summary

Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 5 Pharmacy Technician in Manchester. The role focuses on safe dispensing, medicines management and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams within a prison healthcare setting.

The successful candidate will manage controlled drugs, support staff training and ensure compliance with GPhC standards, with a permanent full-time contract and UK visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

• Must be registered Pharmacy Technician with the GPhC.
• BTEC Level 3 Diploma or equivalent qualification.
• Appropriate UK registration is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Accurately dispense and supply medicines, including complex regimens and compliance aids.
• Label medications and perform dispensing/accuracy-checking duties.
• Manage controlled drugs per legal requirements and Trust policies.
• Maintain stock levels and procurement of medicines.
• Administer medicines at designated points.
• Conduct medicines reconciliation and safety checks.
• Advise patients and staff on safe medicine use.
• Supervise and train staff and students.
• Act as Technician in Charge when Team Lead is absent.
• Engage in audits, policy development and service improvement.
