Job summary

Spectrum Community Health CIC is seeking a dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join the team at HMP Liverpool, on Agenda for Change Band 5. The role focuses on medicines management and patient-facing duties within a diverse, fast-paced prison healthcare setting.

Applicants should hold NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in pharmaceutical services and be registered as a UK Pharmacy Technician. The post offers permanent, full-time work with NHS pension and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• BTEC/NVQ level 3 or equivalent in pharmaceutical services.
• Appropriate accredited technician checking qualification.
• Knowledge of medicines optimisation.
• Pharmacy legal requirements and controlled drug legislation.
• Knowledge of Pharmacy Computer systems.
• Substance misuse knowledge.
• Understanding of security issues in prison.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Able to prepare reports and bulletins.

• To supply or administer medication including controlled drugs.
• Support the delivery of medicines management services, primary care, health promotion and education.
