Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking Pharmacy Technicians to work within the Prison service on a flexible bank basis. You will provide medicines management and dispensing services, supervised by a prison pharmacist, and handle stock control and patient guidance in a secure setting.

The role involves dispensing prescriptions, stocking dispensary items, supervising assistants and ensuring medicines are stored correctly. Applicants contribute to rehabilitation and health care within prisons.

Qualifications

• Administer medicines to patients against prescriptions
• Provide advice on appropriate use of medicines and promote healthy lifestyles
• Dispense prescriptions and stock items and supervise dispensary staff
• Undertake stock top-up, review expiry dates and liaise with prison service pharmacist

Responsibilities

• Provide medicines management service within the prison setting
• Dispense prescriptions and manage stock in the dispensary
• Supervise assistants and support stock control activities
• Monitor storage and expiry of medicines and report issues to the prison service pharmacist
