Ministry of Justice in the West End is seeking an Operational Support Grade to help run a busy prison. You will work in a close-knit team delivering a range of support services—from patrol and gate duties to supervising visitors, handling deliveries, and monitoring CCTV and phone calls.

You will work shifts and nights, averaging 37 hours per week, including evenings, weekends and Bank/Public holidays, on a rolling shift pattern with enhanced holiday allowance.

Competenze

• Ability to work nights, evenings, weekends and public holidays as part of a rolling shift pattern.
• Good communication skills in English and ability to work in a security-sensitive environment.
• Ability to follow procedures and maintain a calm, professional approach.

Mansioni

• Gate/portal duties to ensure secure entry and exit, including searches.
• Operate control room radio and CCTV, reporting suspicious activity.
• Book and process visits, identify visitors on arrival.
• Monitor mail and contraband, preserve evidence.
• Night duties: secure cells and account for prisoners.
• Reception support and property processing tasks.
• Supervise prisoners and assist with movement.
• Food trolley delivery and related logistics.
• Transport prisoners and manage related paperwork.
• Maintain logs for PIN requests and official numbers.
