Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is recruiting for an Operational Support Grade – Advance Into Justice (North West). You will help run day-to-day prison operations, from patrol and gate duties to managing deliveries, supervising visitors and monitoring CCTV.

Shifts and nights are required to keep the establishment working smoothly. With a fixed-term contract for 2 years, you will benefit from a 37-hour week and a generous leave allowance plus entry to a Level 2 apprenticeship in customer service, a Civil

Responsibilities

• gate/portal duties: ensure secure entry/exit, search staff, prisoners, visitors, vehicles
• control room: operate radio system and monitor CCTV
• visits: book and process visitors on arrival, escort when required
• censors/correspondence: monitor mail and preserve evidence
• night duties: ensure cells are locked and prisoners accounted for
• reception: assist with property process, photograph prisoners, receive items
