Your starting salary will be £27,300 pa, increasing to £28,350 after 12 months, and to £32,288 upon reaching 3 years’ service. We are committed to your career progression through our PCO Portfolio or PCO Apprenticeship, which can increase your salary to £32,288 within 12 to 18 months. Additional benefits include:

As a Prison Officer, you’ll ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone around you. Your work involves:
Our shifts cover 24/7, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays. We promote work-life balance through a flexible rota system.
You will complete an online assessment, followed by a virtual competency-based interview, Maths and English tests. Successful candidates will be invited to HMP Fosse Way for a Welcome Briefing, Group Session, Mobility Assessment, and Prison Tour.
Upon passing, you’ll attend a 10-week Initial Training Course (ITC), including classroom training, shadowing, and earning a Diploma in Custodial Care, First Aid, and Control & Restraint training.
This role is based at HMP Fosse Way, Leicester, with limited public transport. Candidates should consider their commute and ideally live within 30 miles.
