Job summary

Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join a dedicated team delivering care to patients in prison settings. The role is 0.85 WTE (32 hours per week) with a focus on physical care, observations, and wound care under a registered nurse.

You will work to promote health and wellbeing, perform ECGs and blood pressure checks, and contribute to holistic, needs-led care within a secure environment. Sponsorship is not available for this post.

Qualifications

• Experience in hospital or primary care settings.
• Competent at taking blood pressure, ECGs and other observations.
• Knowledge of wound care.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivering high quality nursing care to patients in prison under a registered nurse.
• Take blood pressures, ECGs and other observations; wound care as required.
• Promote health and wellbeing through health promotion activities and programmes.
• Document care and use appropriate templates in SystmOne.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and safety within a custodial setting.
