Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Band 5 Medicine Management Pharmacy Technician for HMP Bristol on bank/ ad-hoc hours. The role sits within NHS AfC with pension benefits and a salary of £34,592 per annum pro-rata.

You will provide medicines management to the prison, dispense prescriptions, supervise staff, and contribute to clinical checks and CPD. There is a focus on offender rehabilitation and patient safety in a secure environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ level 3 Pharmacy Services or equivalent.
• Registration with GPhC as a pharmacy technician.
• Evidence of CPD.
• Working towards Accredited Checking or MM Technician Certificate.
• 2 years’ experience of working in a pharmacy.
• Previous prison or mental health pharmacy experience.

Responsabilités

• Provide a Medicines Management service to the allocated prison(s) weekly with the professional supervision of a prison services pharmacist.
• Oversee ordering/supply of repeat prescriptions.
• Supervise dispensary assistants in dispensing services for all the prisons.
• Dispense prescriptions and stock items in the dispensary.
• Work towards accreditation as a checking technician and/or medicines administration.
• Ensure high standards of work in the dispensary and during prison visits; adhere to SOPs.
• Manage own workload for medicines management.
• Provide weekly clinical visits to the allocated prison(s) with a pharmacist; stock top-up; review expiry dates; advise prisoners and staff on medicines; conduct quarterly CD stock checks.
• Promote healthy lifestyles for offenders in line with guidelines.
• Demonstrate ongoing CPD and participate in audits.
• Undertake other tasks as requested by the Lead Prison Services Pharmacist.
