Job summary

Practice Plus Group is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to join the Primary Care team at HMP Full Sutton in Pocklington, York. The role supports clinics, works with pharmacy and responds to emergencies in a secure environment.

You will own aspects such as social care, health promotion and venepuncture under supervision, with wide training and development opportunities. The position is part-time (22.5 hours per week on a 4-week rolling rota, 3 shifts 7:00–19:15, no night shifts) with a salary up to

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care or Care Certificate.
• Experience in phlebotomy is highly desirable.
• Experience in a clinical care setting such as hospital or prison.
• Clinical skills including venepuncture and ECGs.

Responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional patient care within the healthcare department and on wings.
• Support implementation of clinical care packages and phlebotomy tasks.
• Assist the primary care nursing team with venepuncture and related duties.
• Support clinics with bloods, ECGs, weights, etc.
• Assist with new prisoner reception processes alongside the RN.
• Act as a second checker in pharmacy as required.
• May support duties in the substance misuse team.
