Job summary

The Ministry of Justice is actively recruiting a Group Worker in Sudbury, offering a competitive salary of £34,440 with flexible working options. Based in a prison setting, you will deliver programmes to prisoners and run group and one-to-one sessions to help individuals understand behaviours and develop skills toward an offence-free future.

You will join a dedicated team within the rehabilitative service, contributing to assessment, treatment delivery, and wider reform efforts.

Qualifications

• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to deal effectively with people.
• Ability to successfully complete required assessment and training courses for intervention delivery and maintain accreditation.
• Demonstrated ability to facilitate sessions in an interactive and engaging manner.
• Strong organisational skills to manage materials and plan sessions according to programme requirements.
• Ability to maintain accurate records of assessments and prisoner contact, and manage participant databases.
• Must possess the right to work in the UK, either through existing status or by securing a Skilled Worker (Tier 2) visa, which is sponsored for this role.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group and one-to-one sessions to prisoners.
• Facilitate sessions to help individuals understand behaviours and build relationships.
• Support rehabilitative services and participate in assessment and treatment delivery.
• Collaborate with team to support wider reform efforts within the prison.
