Job summary

DrPA Secure is seeking a dedicated General Practitioner (GP) to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team within a secure prison environment. You will deliver high-quality primary care in a challenging but rewarding setting, improving health outcomes for a diverse patient population.

Key responsibilities include full GP services, chronic and mental health management, and collaboration with nursing, pharmacists and external providers.

Qualifications

• Fully qualified GP with current GMC registration and licence to practise.
• Performers list registration.
• Experience in primary care with sound clinical decision-making and patient management.
• Safeguarding and confidentiality in secure environments knowledge.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide full GP services including consultations, clinical assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and referrals.
• Manage chronic diseases, acute presentations, and mental health conditions.
• Contribute to substance misuse management and detox pathways.
• Collaborate with nursing, mental health professionals, pharmacists and external providers.
• Participate in audits, risk assessments and safeguarding processes.
• Maintain clinical records in the prisons electronic health record system.
• Engage in clinical governance and quality improvement.
