Job summary

People Plus is seeking an Assistant Manager to lead and shape education delivery within a prison environment. You will support the Education Manager, drive curriculum quality, and oversee staff performance to improve learner outcomes.

You will manage inductions, learner conduct, and partnerships while ensuring compliance with Ofsted and MoJ frameworks. This role offers a clear leadership path in a challenging, impactful setting.

Qualifications

• Experience leading curriculum delivery and performance improvement in education settings.
• Proven ability to manage staff, monitor KPIs, and deliver quality outcomes.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, inclusion, and compliance in education.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the education department.
• Lead on curriculum delivery, learner management, and departmental performance.
• Deputise for the Education Manager when required.
• Manage learner induction, allocation, and conduct within education settings.
• Build internal and external partnerships to support learner success.
• Work across curriculum areas such as Motor Mechanics, Art, P&D, Music, Media, PSD.
• Drive improvements in recruitment, retention, achievement, and satisfaction.
• Set and monitor staff targets in line with KPIs.
• Develop a standardised curriculum aligned to learner and employer needs.
• Work with awarding bodies to ensure qualifications meet quality standards.
