Job summary

Ministry of Justice, through HMPPS, seeks a Crime in Prisons Coordinator to provide specialist administration and coordination support for CiP operations within a single establishment. The role focuses on information sharing, evidence handling, and liaison with police, CPS, and regional CiP teams to manage crime referrals and improve victim support.

Travel to prisons and regional offices is expected, with hybrid working arrangements where available.

Qualifications

• Specialist administration and coordination support for crime in prisons.
• Understanding CiPRA and Victims’ Code.
• Knowledge of roles of HMPPS, police and CPS in investigations and prosecutions.
• Willingness to travel within the region and beyond as required.

Responsibilities

• Be the single contact point for communications regarding CiP work.
• Maintain records and evidence handling in line with policy.
• Coordinate crime referrals, clinics, and tracker updates with law enforcement.
• Support CiP team in delivering the crime in prisons delivery agenda.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to share information in line with disclosure policies.
• Prepare papers, minutes and actions for meetings to support crime in prison operations.
