Job summary

The Scottish Prison Service is seeking a Prison Chaplain (Roman Catholic Priest) to deliver religious, pastoral and spiritual care within HMP Greenock. You will work with an ecumenical chaplaincy team to serve all detained individuals, offering Mass, prayers, sacraments, and faith-based support.

You will contribute to safeguarding wellbeing, bereavement and distress support, and run faith-based groups while adhering to SPS frameworks for spiritual care and belief.

Qualifications

• Qualified Roman Catholic Priest with valid ministry credentials.

Responsibilities

• Religious care: lead services, Mass, worship, sacraments, and faith-based groups.
• Pastoral care: provide bereavement and distress support to detainees.
• Spiritual care: accompany people of all faiths and none on their journey.
