Job summary

Ministry of Justice at HMP Bristol seeks an Anglican ordained priest to provide faith and pastoral care to prisoners, staff and families within a multi-faith chaplaincy. You will help deliver PSI 05/2016 Faith and Pastoral Care and engage with external faith communities to support rehabilitation and resettlement.

The role involves planning worship, mentoring chaplains and volunteers, and contributing to policy and training programmes, with no supervisory line management duties.

Qualifications

• Pastoral care and spiritual welfare provided to prisoners and staff.
• Ability to engage with multiple faiths and beliefs within a chaplaincy team.
• Ability to train staff and volunteers in faith awareness and pastoral practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide faith-based guidance and pastoral care to prisoners, staff and families.
• Plan and lead worship, prayer and faith-specific meetings within the establishment.
• Coordinate worship facilities and collaborate with chaplains, volunteers and external groups.
• Contribute to local policy development and staff training programmes.
• Support ACCT processes and participate in relevant boards and committees.
• Foster links with local faith communities and assist in community reintegration on release.
