Print Technician – 5 Crew

Role description
As the department continues to grow and develop, Ardagh Glass is now looking to recruit a Print Technician, working on shifts and reporting directly to the Print Facility Team Leader. The role will ensure the continuous operation and development of process equipment within the Doncaster Print Facility.
Responsibilities:
- Health and Safety programme, upgrade, back up, and monitor PLCs throughout the print department.
- Identify and rectify faults on packaging/process equipment, including print machines, palletisers, shuttle cars, strappers, palletiser preparation, and pallet ticket printers.
- Identify and propose cost-effective improvements to the above equipment.
- Schedule electrical and mechanical maintenance in the print department.
- Communicate and liaise with print and cold end personnel and management to ensure internal customers’ needs are fulfilled.
- Install equipment to enable an effective engineering monitoring system.
- Prepare and modify equipment for maintenance stops, source and order defective equipment and components.
Required skills / qualifications:
- Educated to HNC Electrical/Electronic or equivalent.
- Understanding of the operation of cold end equipment, in-process controlling, and packaging.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Experience working on PLCs in FMCG companies.
What we offer:
- Salary based on Grade 6 of the harmonized pay scales, with a minimum of £44,292 and a maximum of £52,272 per annum (1788 hours).
- Salary sacrifice pension scheme with up to 10% matched contributions.
- Shift pattern typically involves two 12-hour day shifts, two 12-hour night shifts, followed by a six-day rest period, including 20 shifts when working the 5-crew 12-hour shift rota. Holidays are built into the shift 5-crew rota.
