Job summary

Saica Group UK Ltd in Wigan is seeking a Plate Mounter to mount print plates and support press operations. You will ensure plates are prepared ahead of production, resolve plate/registration issues, and help maintain production running times as a priority for the site.

The role involves mounting plates on sleeves, inspecting stock and ensuring quality standards. It requires physical fitness and fluent English, with a 12-hour shift pattern and opportunities for progression within a

Qualifications

• Fluent English – ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and understand instructions.
• Previous experience in a print manufacturing environment is beneficial.
• Previous experience in a production environment is essential.
• Exposure to quality, health, safety and environmental standards within a production setting.
• A reasonable level of fitness is required due to physical activity such as lifting and bending.

Responsibilities

• Operate in line with site health and safety, environmental and quality standards (BRC, ISO & A2).
• Organise workload according to daily print programme and meet targets.
• Locate and inspect plates.
• Apply and strip backing tape to sleeves using applicator/demounter.
• Mount printing plates onto sleeves as per customer requirements.
• Demount plates and operate plate cleaner.
• Operate parts washer and file/organise plates for filing.
• Store and identify printing plates for future use and ensure quality standards are met.
• Assist with production operations and maintenance of equipment as needed.
• Keep mounting aligned with production schedule and notify shifts if anything missing.
