Job summary

Flexipol Packaging Limited is seeking a shift-based print operator in the UK with experience on manual and semi-automatic presses. The role involves operating 4-colour stack presses and an 8-colour CI press, monitoring output to meet targets, and resolving print issues.

You will conduct shift handovers, optimise changeovers, and uphold health, safety and quality standards while mounting plates and ensuring colour accuracy. Overtime and weekly pay are offered.

Qualifications

• Experience in print operations and working with presses.
• NVQ in Print is desirable but not essential.
• High attention to detail with a meticulous approach.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills to resolve production issues.
• Basic computer skills for job-related tasks.
• Excellent time-keeping and attendance record.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual and semi-automatic presses (4-colour stack presses, 8-colour CI press).
• Monitor output to meet production targets and quality standards.
• Identify and fix print issues as they arise.
• Conduct shift handovers and brief next shift, ensuring smooth transitions.
• Optimise changeovers while maintaining health, safety and quality standards.
• Mount print plates and perform colour matching as needed.
• Follow lean manufacturing practices (SMED, 5S).
• Maintain a clean, safe work environment and address spills promptly.

Hourly Rate

up to £16.50 an hour (dependent on experience)

Here’s What You Can Expect To Be Doing

• Operating both manual and semi-automatic machines, including 4-colour stack presses and an 8-colour CI press
• Monitoring machinery output to meet and exceed production targets
• Identifying and resolving print issues
• Conducting shift handovers to ensure smooth production transitions, including briefing the next shift and checking machinery
• Optimising changeovers while maintaining health, safety, and quality standards
• Mounting print plates and colour matching as needed
• Following lean manufacturing practices, including SMED and 5S principles
• Maintaining a clean, safe work environment by addressing spills immediately and promoting safety

A Few Things About You

• Ideally, you have experience in print
• NVQ in Print (desirable but not essential)
• High attention to detail and meticulous approach
• Able to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment

Working Hours

• Average of 38.5 hours per week
• Continental shifts, Monday to Friday, covering both days and nights

OR

• 44 hours a week
• Monday to Thursday 06.45am 19.00pm and Tuesday to Friday 18.45pm to 07.00am. 2 week rotation.
