Job summary

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment in Leicester is seeking Floor Assistants for a well‑established print and packaging company. You will support both the print and packaging departments on the factory floor, feeding materials into machines and packing printed items onto pallets.

Role involves some heavy lifting and physical tasks. Shifts rotate weekly: 6am–2pm and 2pm–10pm, with a pathway to temp‑to‑perm for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Experience in a print or packaging environment or roles requiring manual work preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to perform heavy lifting when needed.
• Comfort with rotating shifts and physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Feed materials into machines and assist printing and packaging departments.
• Remove finished items from machines after training and pack onto pallets.
• Strip pallets and move pallets as required.

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for a couple of Floor Assistants to work for a well established print and packaging company based in Leicester.

The Job:

Working as a Floor Assistant which is working throughout the factory - assisting both the print and packaging departments

Tasks can include:

• Feeding materials into machines
• Taking printed items off the machine (after training)
• Packing of printed items and putting onto pallets
• Stripping pallets
• This is a physical role at times with the lifting and moving of boxes of various weights and stripping and packing pallets.
• Its not physical all the time but there are times when it can be.

Rotating Weekly Shifts - one week 6am-2pm and the next week 2pm-10pm

Salary: £12.71ph

About you:

• Previous experience in a print or packaging or role that requires manual work is preferred
• Key skills required are: ability to work both independently and are part of a team, strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ok with there being heavy lifting at times
• Ok with rotating shifts - there is no fixed shift available for temp to perm jobs
• Have access to transport as there is limited public transport for 6am starts - all other times is fine
• Interested in a temp to perm position - they expect you to become permanent so only apply if this is something you really want
