Job summary

Thorn Baker Group has a Leicester-based opportunity for a Floor Assistant in a print and packaging environment. You will work across the factory, assisting both print and packaging departments, feeding materials into machines, and packing on pallets.

The role involves heavy lifting at times and requires flexibility with rotating early and late shifts. Temp to perm is a pathway the employer considers, with transport access advised for 6am starts.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in print/packaging or manual work preferred.
• Must be able to lift heavy items.
• Ok with rotating shifts; no fixed shift for temp-to-perm role.
• Access to transport due to early starts.
• Temp to perm opportunity intended by employer.

Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment are looking for a couple of Floor Assistants to work for a well established print and packaging company based in Leicester.

The Job:

Working as a Floor Assistant which is working throughout the factory - assisting both the print and packaging departments

Tasks can include:

• Feeding materials into machines
• Taking printed items off the machine (after training)
• Packing of printed items and putting onto pallets
• Stripping pallets
• This is a physical role at times with the lifting and moving of boxes of various weights and stripping and packing pallets.
• Its not physical all the time but there are times when it can be.

Rotating Weekly Shifts - one week 6am-2pm and the next week 2pm-10pm

Salary: £12.71ph

About you:

• Previous experience in a print or packaging or role that requires manual work is preferred
• Key skills required are: ability to work both independently and are part of a team, strong communication skills and a positive attitude
• Ok with there being heavy lifting at times
• Ok with rotating shifts - there is no fixed shift available for temp to perm jobs
• Have access to transport as there is limited public transport for 6am starts - all other times is fine
• Interested in a temp to perm position - they expect you to become permanent so only apply if this is something you really want
