Job summary

Coveris Gainsborough in England seeks a motivated Print Assistant to join the Print Department. You will support the Printer and help ensure the press operates safely, efficiently and to high quality standards.

Key duties include assisting with day-to-day press operation, monitoring ancillary areas, completing quality records in Prism, upholding 5S housekeeping and contributing to continuous improvement. No prior flexographic experience is essential; a willingness to learn and strong attention

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation of the print press to maximise efficiency and performance.
• Monitor and control print press ancillary areas.
• Provide the Printer with the support needed to meet machine KPIs.
• Monitor the press during periods when the Printer is away from the machine.
• Accurately complete quality documentation and production records using Prism.
• Carry out quality checks in line with SOPs.
• Maintain housekeeping to 5S standards and support continuous improvement.
• Provide holiday and sickness cover when required.
• Ensure effective shift handovers and communication.
• Follow all health, safety, hygiene and quality procedures.

What You'll Be Doing

Working closely with the Printer, you'll help ensure the print press operates safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

• Supporting the day-to-day operation of the print press to maximise efficiency and performance
• Monitoring and controlling print press ancillary support areas
• Ensuring the Printer has the support needed to achieve machine KPIs
• Monitoring the press during periods when the Printer is away from the machine
• Completing quality documentation and production records accurately using Prism
• Carrying out quality checks in line with standard operating procedures
• Maintaining excellent housekeeping standards and supporting 5S activities
• Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Providing holiday and sickness cover where required
• Ensuring effective communication and handovers between shifts
• Following all health, safety, hygiene and quality procedures

• Has knowledge of flexographic printing processes (desirable but not essential)
