Job summary

Matchtech client, a leading design and engineering consultancy, seeks a Principal Wastewater Modeller in Leeds. You will lead a team, manage multi‑project delivery and innovate modelling processes for urban drainage schemes.

Candidates should have Infoworks ICM experience, strong GIS capability and Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM, with a track record of project leadership and business development. Hybrid working is available.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering wastewater modelling projects with Infoworks ICM.
• Proven ability to lead modelling teams and manage projects financially.
• Chartered engineer status with ICE or CIWEM is required.
• Strong GIS skills (ArcGIS or MapInfo) for data analysis and mapping.

Responsibilities

• Deliver modelling work with focus on technical delivery, cost and programme.
• Lead a team of junior modellers, providing guidance and training.
• Work on feasibility studies, model building and surface water plans.
• Engage with clients' technical teams to ensure project success.
• Develop innovative modelling tools and maintain QA across deliverables.

Job description

Our client, a leading design and engineering consultancy, is currently seeking a Principal Wastewater Modeller to join their Water department in Leeds.

Key Responsibilities:

Delivering a programme of modelling work with a focus on technical delivery, cost and programme management
Leading a team of junior modellers and providing technical guidance, support, and training
Working on diverse projects, including feasibility studies, model building, and surface water management plans
Engaging with clients' technical teams to ensure successful project delivery
Developing innovative modelling tools and processes
Ensuring quality assurance and control across all project deliverables

Job Requirements:

Experience using Infoworks ICM
Water quality modelling and/or undertaking UPM studies is advantageous
Proficiency in GIS software such as ArcGIS or Mapinfo
Experience in managing projects and acting as a technical discipline lead
Skills in managing modelling teams from a commercial/financial perspective
Understanding of market trends and a keen interest in business development
Chartered status with ICE or CIWEM
