Your new company

Hays is recruiting for a Principal Urban Catchment Modeller based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. You will work with the Surface Water Management (SWM) national team within a multidisciplinary group focused on nationwide projects. The company is a leading design, engineering, and project management organisation committed to engineering a better future, offering services from Capital to Project Delivery.

Your new role

The Principal Urban Catchment Modeller will work on projects related to stormwater management, Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS), wastewater, and integrated networks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct feasibility studies and catchment drainage modelling.
• Support operational and environmental recommendations.
• Manage technical and project aspects of surface water initiatives.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients like water companies.
• Assist in bid preparation and cost estimation.
• Oversee project teams and assist in resource planning.
• Promote staff development and participate in innovation workgroups.

What you'll need to succeed

Qualifications and skills include:

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience.
• Knowledge of the water environment and sustainability.
• Experience in surface water management projects and UK Water Industry regulations.
• Proficiency in hydraulic modelling software (preferably ICM).
