Job summary

SYSTRA is seeking a Principal Engineer to lead delivery of tunnelling projects, including deep underground spaces, with a strong focus on UK&I bids and technical leadership. You will drive design development, quality, and collaboration across disciplines in a hybrid work environment.

You will mentor teams, ensure compliance with CDM regulations, and contribute to continuous improvement of technical capabilities within the office and wider SYSTRA Group.

Qualifications

• Experience in detailed design of tunnels and underground spaces.
• Knowledge of soil and hard rock tunnelling design.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of engineering projects and work packages to standards, budget and programme.
• Develop design concepts, drawings, specifications and technical documents.
• Support work winning, bids, and financial controls on projects.
• Ensure health and safety and environmental compliance.
