Job summary

RGB Recruitment is seeking an experienced Principal Transport Planner in Bristol to lead development planning projects and drive technical excellence. You will manage feasibility through to planning submission, review key transport reports, and provide strategic advice to developers and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Strong UK development planning experience within a consultancy environment.
• Experience preparing and reviewing Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans and associated technical reports.
• Excellent report-writing and communication skills with the ability to explain complex transport matters clearly to clients and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead development planning projects from feasibility and pre-application through to planning submission and delivery.
• Prepare and review Transport Assessments, Transport Statements, Travel Plans, access appraisals, feasibility studies and technical notes.
• Provide transport and access advice to developers and wider professional teams.
• Liaise with local planning authorities, highway authorities, clients, planning consultants and architects.
• Support planning applications, conditions, S106/S278 matters and technical approvals.
• Manage project programmes, budgets, deliverables and client expectations.
• Review technical work and provide guidance to junior team members.
• Contribute to growth and development of the transport planning team.
• For Principal level, contribute to business development, fee proposals and client account development.
