Job summary

SLR Consulting is seeking an experienced Principal Transport Planner to join our Bristol team. You’ll lead a varied portfolio of development and infrastructure projects across the private and public sectors, working with clients in residential, commercial, retail and energy.

The role combines technical leadership in transport planning with responsibility for client relationships, project delivery and team development, while supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the

Qualifications

• Extensive experience delivering UK transport planning projects within a consultancy or similar environment.
• Relevant degree (or higher) and professional membership (e.g. MCIHT or similar)
• Strong project delivery, leadership and client management skills
• Proven stakeholder engagement and client development ability
• Technical expertise in transport planning and appraisal
• Experience with JUNCTIONS and LINSIG (desirable)
• Strong reporting and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

• Use professional judgement to develop effective and practical solutions
• Deliver Vision-Led Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
• Build client relationships and support fee proposals
• Lead client engagement with support from the wider team
• Manage project performance and profitability
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policy, legal and technical changes
• Mentor team members and provide technical guidance
