Job Title: Principal Transport Planner

Advert: SLR’s Cardiff transport planning team provides advice to clients across the UK, in sectors including residential, commercial, retail and energy on projects ranging from new settlements to small scale landowner developments. We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Transport Planning professional to join at Principal grade, to assist with both project delivery, and with client and team management activities within the Cardiff office.

What you will do
  • Use professional judgement and personal initiative to develop effective and constructive solutions
  • Deliver Vision Led Transport Assessments, Statements and Travel Plans
  • Assist with wider transport planning work
  • Manage client relationships to ensure the securing of work and negotiate proposals
  • Plan and carry out marketing activities
  • Ensuring the profitability of designated projects
  • Continue to update personal knowledge of relevant technical, legal and policy changes
  • Develop colleagues within the project team
  • Provide guidance on quality matters and technical issues

About you
  • Relevant degree (or higher) level qualification
  • Demonstrable experience at a comparable level within transport planning in a consultancy or similar environment
  • Proven project delivery capabilities, along with leadership and client management skills
  • Strong software modelling capabilities on relevant software packages, e.g. ARCADY/PICADY/LINSIG
