Northumberland County Council is seeking a Strategic Transport Manager to lead the development of transport strategies, policy and evidence for the county. Based at County Hall, Morpeth, the role combines hybrid/home working with occasional site visits and evening meetings.
You will manage large transport programmes, lead a team, and collaborate with councillors, government departments and external agencies to deliver high-impact transport improvements.
You'll be part of the Strategic Transport team within the Transport and Environment Directorate. The team develops and delivers transport policy, strategy and projects across the county, working closely with councillors, communities, government departments and external partners. We’re looking for a motivated professional with a strong understanding of transport planning and policy, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels. You’ll need to be confident managing projects, programmes, budgets and contracts, and skilled at presenting technical information clearly. Based at County Hall, Morpeth, with hybrid working arrangements (home/office/site visits) and occasional evening meetings.
