Job summary

Copello is partnering with a leading defence/advanced engineering organisation to recruit a Principal Test Development Engineer. You will design, develop and implement test solutions for complex electronic products, supporting development from initial concept through qualification and into production.

Working with engineering teams, you’ll lead Design for Test (DfT) activities, develop cost-effective test strategies, produce facility designs and documentation, and drive automated test software

Qualifications

• Experience with automated test systems for electronic products.
• Strong LabVIEW/CVI/TestStand development experience.
• Knowledge of Design for Test (DfT) principles.
• Experience with RF and FPGA-based products.
• Ability to produce clear test procedures and technical instructions.
• Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio).

Responsibilities

• Provide cost estimates, resources and development timescales for test equipment.
• Lead Design for Test (DfT) activities across lifecycles.
• Develop cost-effective test strategies for qualification and production.
• Design test facilities and produce drawings, docs and manufacturing information.
• Support the build and manufacture of test equipment and facilities.
• Develop test software and firmware for automated tests.
• Commission new test facilities and implement calibration procedures.
• Produce clear test procedures and work instructions for production and QA.
• Collaborate with software and engineering teams on interfacing requirements.
• Provide technical support and continuous improvement for legacy systems.
