Job summary

Spinwell Global Limited is recruiting for a Principal Technologist for a 12-month contract across Hybrid London, Bristol or Manchester. The role involves shaping an IT Operations function to service government and the wider public sector, with travel for office/team days as needed.

You will work with your team and Deputy Director to create and shape strategy, lead on research, and develop roadmaps, including how agentic AI may affect practices, while engaging senior stakeholders and ensuring

Qualifications

Significant experience aligned to IT Operations and/or Software Development, preferably in a Government context.
Experience delivering operations and technology-related change at significant scale.

Responsibilities

Lead on creation of the team and develop a 10-year IT Operations vision and strategy.
Lead on new research and pieces of work to support understanding of the maturity of the cross-public sector operational landscape.
Create future states and roadmaps, including how agentic AI may affect practices.
Support Spending Review coherence for your work.
Collaborate with senior and cross-government stakeholders to shape government digital strategy, translating complex concepts for senior decision makers.
Support the delivery of existing and new operational technologies.
Develop a network of peers and improve communication.
Promote work through speaking engagements and hosting community events.
Upskill others within the client in your specialist area.
