Principal Systems Engineer - Clevedon, BS21

Pertemps Bristol Industrial are currently hiring for a Principal Systems Engineer for one of our clients based in Clevedon, BS21.

Job Overview:

As a Systems Engineer, you will oversee and inspire a team of Systems Engineers and Verification & Test Engineers, responsible for semiconductor manufacturing equipment. You will manage projects from concept through to customer commissioning and field trials, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budget, and compliance with specifications. By implementing systems engineering best practices, you will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Lead and oversee systems engineering activities across a range of projects.
2. Develop and implement strategies aligned with ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288:2023 and INCOSE standards.
3. Champion the adoption of best-practice systems engineering processes to enhance project delivery and performance.
4. Manage project budgets, resources, and systems engineering teams effectively.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and support validation and verification plans.
6. Provide mentorship and expert guidance to engineers, fostering their growth and development.
7. Monitor team progress, ensuring milestones are met and projects are completed on schedule.
8. Cultivate a high-performing, collaborative team environment and develop future systems engineering talent.

Skills and Experience:

1. 10+ years of experience in systems engineering within regulated, compliance-driven industries.
2. Proven ability to lead, recruit, and develop systems engineering teams.
3. Experience with systems engineering tools (e.g., Sparx, Jama, IBM DOORS).
4. Strong project and budget management capabilities with a focus on delivering results.
5. Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and semiconductor manufacturing processes is beneficial.
6. Excellent leadership, communication, and mentoring skills.
7. Chartered Engineer status or progression towards it is highly desirable.
