Job summary

A leading defense company in the UK is seeking a Systems Architect to lead the development of cutting-edge submarine systems architecture. This role offers the opportunity to work in a hybrid environment, providing expert contributions from design through to commissioning, while mentoring engineers and supporting project bids.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of systems engineering lifecycle, especially early concept/design.
• Track record of working on early-stage systems architecture.
• INCOSE membership or equivalent industry recognition is desirable.

Location: Coventry – Hybrid working available

Lead the definition of cutting-edge submarine systems architecture in one of the UK’s most important defence programmes.

What You’ll Be Doing:

1. Define and maintain logical, physical, and functional system architectures
2. Ensure architectural compliance with design, feasibility, and performance requirements
3. Provide expert input from design to commissioning
4. Mentor engineers and guide the development of architectural maturity
5. Support bids and proposals through scope and resource estimation

Your Skills and Experience:

1. Deep understanding of systems engineering lifecycle, especially early concept/design
2. STEM degree or experience in Defence, Nuclear, Telecoms or Automotive
3. Track record of working on early-stage systems architecture
4. INCOSE membership or equivalent industry recognition (desirable)
