Job summary

Advance TRS is seeking a Principal Substation Primary (HV Plant) Design Engineer to provide senior technical leadership across major transmission projects in the UK. You will lead FEED and detailed design workstreams, manage technical assurance, and drive bids and commercial activity.

The role involves client engagement, team leadership and travel to client sites as required. Applicants should have a degree in Electrical Engineering and substantial HV substation design experience, with Chartered

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Significant HV substation primary plant design experience.
• Proven UK or international transmission substation experience.
• Experience leading FEED and detailed design workstreams.
• Strong knowledge of HV equipment, codes and standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership across FEED and detailed design workstreams.
• Lead technical assurance reviews of HV primary plant designs.
• Line manage engineers and support recruitment and development.
• Coordinate interfaces with project teams, suppliers and clients.
• Lead bids, cost estimation and technical submissions.
