Job summary

BakerHicks is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to lead highly regulated, technically complex nuclear and defence projects in the UK. You will guide delivery strategy, lead multidisciplinary teams and ensure robust, safe, and compliant structural solutions.

You will oversee design across reinforced concrete, steel and hybrid systems, drive delivery performance, and engage with clients and stakeholders to secure successful outcomes in challenging environments.

Qualifications

• Chartered Engineer with eligibility for UK chartership (CEng).
• Experience leading multidisciplinary design teams in regulated environments.
• Proven capability to deliver robust, compliant structural solutions for nuclear/defence projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead structural design and analysis for nuclear and defence facilities and infrastructure.
• Manage multidisciplinary teams across engineering, architecture, geotechnical and specialist disciplines.
• Drive programme, cost and technical delivery on high-assurance projects.
• Support design governance, technical assurance and client decision-making.
