Job summary

RoC Consulting in Manchester is seeking a strongly experienced Principal Structural Engineer to lead design and deliver building structures across common materials. You will manage projects from inception to completion, coordinate with the wider design team, and supervise junior engineers and technicians.

You will conduct surveys of existing structures, present design ideas via sketches and drawings, check colleague work, and liaise with architects, contractors and other construction

Qualifications

• Chartered status with IStructE or equivalent.
• Experience as a Principal Structural Engineer or senior equivalent.
• Strong communication and collaboration with design teams.
• Ability to supervise junior engineers and technicians.

Responsibilities

• Manage small projects from inception to completion and set delivery programmes.
• Coordinate with the design team and other professionals to meet project objectives.
• Check and review designs produced by others; ensure quality and accuracy.
• Supervise junior engineers and technicians; mentor and develop the team.
• Attend site and undertake surveys of existing structures; communicate design concepts via sketches.
• Liaise with architects, contractors and other construction professionals.
