My client is a world-renowned Engineering Consultancy offering a variety of services to high-end prestigious and local companies. Due to securing new projects, their Leeds office is seeking a Principal Structural Engineer to ensure successful project delivery within budget and schedule.
This role may involve leading a small team of engineers and designers as the team expands. Initially, responsibilities include managing project delivery, acting as discipline lead within a multidisciplinary team, maintaining client contact, and ensuring project objectives are met.
You will verify the technical accuracy of all work, ensure completion within agreed timescales and budgets, and undertake tasks such as calculations, drawings, sketches, and reports. Providing technical guidance, support, training, and mentoring to colleagues, as well as collaborating with other disciplines, are also key responsibilities.
Required knowledge includes design using common building materials (steel, concrete, timber, masonry), experience in geotechnical engineering and foundation design, and proficiency in preparing and reviewing design calculations, notes, reports, and correspondence. Ability to understand how various building engineering factors influence design implementation is essential.
You should be familiar with Eurocodes, industry analysis and design software, and have in-depth knowledge of Tekla and Revit. Experience working within a 3D design environment and adherence to BIM protocols are required.
This position is suitable for a Chartered (or near Chartered) Structural Engineer with at least 7 years of postgraduate UK experience.
The role offers flexible working from home and opportunities to grow your own team.
