Qualifications

• Experience in design, operation, assurance or regulation of autonomous maritime systems.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear regulatory guidance.
• Experience leading technical assessments, safety cases and systems engineering for emerging technologies.
• Stakeholder engagement with industry, government and innovators to drive regulation.

Responsibilities

• Lead assessment and integration of autonomous maritime technologies and new vessels.
• Provide expert technical assurance, policy support and regulatory guidance.
• Coordinate with UKTMS, UKCMS and external stakeholders to shape regulations and certification routes.
• Support quality assurance processes including audits and ISO accreditation readiness.
• Draft and present substantive papers for internal and external meetings.
• Contribute to MCA technical training programmes and business plan objectives.
