Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Principal Hardware Engineer in a startup-like, high-reliability environment to drive full-stack hardware development for satellite, spacecraft, and aerospace systems.

You will lead teams, develop architecture and requirements, perform detailed schematic and PCB layout, and ensure thorough verification and bring-up across complex modules and systems.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 9+ years in electronics design, analysis, and test for board-level hardware.
• Experience in high-reliability space/defense electronics.
• Experience leading hardware design phases and production deployment.
• Proficiency with Altium and HDI manufacturing practices.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end design of complex electronics modules and systems.
• Lead hardware engineering teams on multi-module products.
• Develop hardware architecture and requirements for high-complexity systems.
• Perform detailed schematic design and PCB layout.
• Create bring-up plans and verification strategies.
• Collaborate with software and mechanical teams to optimize designs.
• Present design reviews to customers and executives.
