Introduction:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Inventory / OSS Principal Architect to join our team in the UK. This key role will involve leading the architecture and design of cutting-edge solutions in service orchestration, service assurance, and network automation. As part of a forward-thinking software vendor, you will help shape the future of telecom infrastructure, working on high-impact projects for leading network operators worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and implement innovative network inventory and OSS solutions to support large-scale telecom networks.
  • Lead end-to-end solution architecture from concept through implementation, ensuring alignment with client objectives and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, product management, and operations, to drive the successful delivery of solutions.
  • Provide expert-level guidance on network automation, service orchestration, and assurance.
  • Analyze complex network environments to identify areas for improvement and optimization through automation and orchestration.
  • Develop technical roadmaps, design documents, and deployment strategies for clients.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, define system architecture, and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Stay ahead of industry trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of our OSS portfolio.
  • Mentor and support junior architects and engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a collaborative team environment.

Required Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in OSS, network inventory, and telecom architecture, with a strong focus on service orchestration and automation.
  • Proven track record in designing and implementing large-scale network automation and orchestration solutions for telecom operators.
  • Expert domain knowledge in multiple telecom technologies (DWDM, Ethernet, IP, etc.).
  • Expert knowledge of the Telco OSS ecosystem and knowledge of one or more of the following inventory systems – Amdocs ARM (Cramer), Ciena/Blue Planet, Ericsson Granite, Netcracker, Oracle MetaSolv, etc.
  • Deep knowledge of industry standards, frameworks, and protocols in the telecom domain (e.g., TM Forum, REST APIs, YANG).
  • Hands-on experience with network management systems, inventory systems, and service assurance platforms.
  • Expertise in cloud-based network architectures and integration of network automation solutions.
  • Strong understanding of software development methodologies and experience in agile environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze and resolve complex network issues.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Skills:

  • Familiarity with AI/ML applications in telecoms for network optimization and automation.
  • Experience in leading teams and projects, with a strong focus on delivering results on time and within budget.
  • Knowledge of emerging technologies such as 5G and SDN/NFV.
