Hawk-Eye Innovations is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead C++ development for Cloud Video Framework in a fast-paced sports technology environment. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and drive high-performance video processing in live workflows.

The role demands strong C++20 skills, multithreading expertise, and collaboration with product and deployments across global office locations. Hybrid work offers in-office days and remote complement.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in modern C++ (up to C++20).
• Experience writing multithreaded, performance-optimised code.
• Familiarity with Git, Visual Studio, and debugging workflows.
• Experience with networking (TCP/IP) and streaming protocols; exposure to cloud or video/audio encoding is a plus.

Our Video And Graphics Team builds the backbone of Hawk-Eye, creating the software architecture, deployment systems, and operational tools that power our world-leading sports technology platforms. Joining our Video Review team, you will build intuitive replay platforms by leveraging core media processing frameworks, low-latency audio/video tech, and seamlessly designed user interfaces.

We're looking for a Principal Software Engineer with strong C++ skills, a curious mindset, and a passion for solving real-world problems in high-pressure environments. Whether you're optimising multithreaded code for live encoding, interfacing with video hardware, or building scalable tooling systems, you'll be making a direct impact on how fans, players, officials, and broadcasters experience sport.

What You'll Be Doing

What We're Looking For

• Proficiency in modern C++ (ideally up to C++20)


• Experience writing multithreaded, performance-optimised code


• Familiarity with tools like Git, Visual Studio, and debugging workflows


• Experience with networking (TCP/IP stack, streaming protocols) is required. Exposure to cloud technologies or video/audio encoding workflows is a plus


• A proactive mindset and eagerness to learn from a world‑class engineering team

Bonus Points For

• Knowledge of cloud architecture, preferably AWS


• Experience with FFmpeg, audio/video processing, or multimedia applications


• Working on a range of challenges, from hardware interfacing and network protocols to audio/video processing and UI development


• Passion for sport or experience working in high-performance environments
