Working closely with the Technical Director – Arm ARM, the role is responsible in conjunction with other people for the execution and ownership of key technical requirements for production flows and tooling that underpin the development, validation, quality and publication of the manual. You contribute to the development of the content, quality strategy, tooling and validation frameworks, while ensuring that the architectural intent is accurately, consistently and efficiently communicated to a broad audience.

This role comes with exciting growth opportunities and operates across the intersection of architecture, engineering, tooling and documentation, exerting significant influence across Arm and its partner ecosystem.

As a senior technical leader, you are encouraged to develop and continuously improve how manual is built and delivered, and to act as a trusted technical authority within ATG by being a catalyst to critical initiatives like internal transformation programmes (Architecting the Architecture) to achieve:

Key objectives:
  • The inception of a scalable, modern specification framework aligned with Arm’s future architecture strategy.
  • Strong industry recognition of the Arm ARM’s clarity, correctness and accessibility.
Responsibilities:
  • Contributes to the long-term strategic roadmap for the Arm ARM, accounting for its correctness, accessibility, consistency and quality.
  • Lead multi-functional initiatives with different teams (architects, engineering teams and partners) to ensure the evolution of the product and its quality.
  • Review and approve plans for integration of new architecture and QA scenarios.
  • Lead the maintenance strategy, work with architects and engineering teams, content refactoring and continually improve quality.
  • Ensure the adoption of tooling, validation frameworks, and digital publication.
  • Mentor technical contributors, strengthening the architecture knowledge across all teams involved.
Required Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelors (BS) or Masters (MS) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Solid understanding in Arm architecture and ISA fundamentals and the ability to quickly digest and understand emerging architecture.
  • Strong technical leadership working with external partners and customers facing experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
Nice To Have:
  • Experience working with authors, specification systems, or producing quality documentation
  • Familiarity with standard software development practices. Use of Unix scripting, Python, Git/Gerrit
  • Exposure to ASL (Architecture Specification Language), Arm machine-readable specifications or general modelling.
