Job summary

Rullion is seeking Principal/Senior Electrical Design Engineers for water design projects based from our Manchester office. Occasional site visits are paid for, with hybrid working possible when required.

Roles can be contract (outside IR35) or permanent, offering leadership of CAD teams and cross-disciplinary collaboration across rail and utilities. The position targets senior professionals with extensive water sector experience, chartered status or working toward it, and a strong background in

Responsibilities

• Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
• Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry
• Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
• Direct, prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract electrical design teams
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers
• Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
• Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
• Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.

Principal/Senior Electrical Design Engineers - Water Design

My client is an engineering design consultancy working closely with a wide range of clients, across a number of disciplines within the UK rail and utilities industries.

Full time role from the Manchester Office with occasional site visits for which travel expenses will be paid.

Hybrid working possible when required provided agreed in advance.

Can be contract (outside IR35) or permanent role.

LOOKING AT SENIOR AND PRINCIPAL LEVELS

Responsibilities:

• Provide design deliverables that satisfy safety and quality requirements.
• Produce design calculations and drawings for the water industry
• Direct and develop CAD technicians and more junior designers and graduates.
• Direct, prepare scopes for and check output of subcontract electrical design teams
• Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers
• Prepare design investigations, reports and specifications.
• Design in compliance with relevant technical, professional and group standards.
• Ensure project change for design package is fully implemented and recorded.
• Estimate hours required for design packages
• Present and attend at meetings and design presentations

• 10 years' relevant design experience in the water industry
• Graduate or HND
• Registered with professional body and working towards chartership

• Chartered engineer
• Experience in control and/or telecoms engineering
• Experience with ATEX
• Experience in HV, LV and ICA designs
• Awareness of construction methods and materials.
• Knowledge of engineering drawing practices.
