Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Principal Designer within its Security & Technology Engineering team in London. You will lead high‑level security design for new builds and fit‑outs, guiding projects through the RIBA stages and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

You'll apply expert knowledge in physical and electronic security, perform risk assessments and deliver robust mitigation strategies. Hybrid working options support flexible scheduling and career growth.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in Security Engineering.
• RSES, CSyP, MSyI or PSP with CPD commitment.
• Qualification in security or engineering discipline.
• Well-established expertise in Security Consultancy.

Responsibilities

• Manage high level technical and strategic security engineering on new build and fit-out projects through the RIBA stages.
• Conduct risk assessments, develop mitigation strategies and write operational requirements.
• Design physical security solutions including electronic locking, walls, glazing, doors, barriers and fencing.
• Create electronic security designs for video surveillance, access control, intruder detection and intercom systems.
• Provide counter-terrorism guidance including Hostile Vehicle Mitigation (HVM), bomb blast and ballistics.
